Lighthouse Human Services & Consulting has been officially approved to offer counseling and psychological services in Bangkok, Thailand.
Established in 2012 by American Psychotherapist Eric Mason, Lighthouse Human Services & Consulting has come to play an important role in providing counseling, psychotherapy, life coaching, addiction treatment, and psychological services, such as ADHD assessments and diagnostic/psychological testing, both to expats and Thais in Bangkok, Thailand.
AT LIGHTHOUSE HUMAN SERVICES & CONSULTING WE ARE EXPERIENCED IN TREATING THE FOLLOWING:
ADHD or ADD
More often than not, people who come to counseling or psychotherapy don’t actually have a disorder or mental illness, but rather are just experiencing a bit of a “bump in the road” or somewhat of a minor life difficulty and need someone with whom to talk. In these cases, counseling and/or life coaching can be very helpful even just a few sessions.
Although we provide counseling to people who range from six to sixty and beyond, we tend to see many teens and young adults in our practice. Eric has many years of experience working with teens and young adults, which has allowed him to develop effective techniques specific to this age group.
Eric is trained and qualified to offer various types of psychological and diagnostic testing. Such tests may be used for the purposes of a diagnostic assessment in order to determine the best treatment approaches for someone who may be experience psychological distress.
Additionally, Eric offers comprehensive ADHD assessments in Bangkok which includes state of the art computerized testing imported from the United States. To my knowledge, we are the only organization offering these type of comprehensive ADHD assessments in all of Thailand. This assessment approaches ensures that a more accurate diagnosis of ADHD is possible.
How to pick a counselor, psychologist, or psychotherapist in Bangkok?
When picking a counselor, psychologist, or psychotherapist it’s important to evaluate a number factors.
Most importantly, is the psychotherapist qualified? In most Western countries, in order to qualify as a psychotherapist, one must have an advanced degree and be licensed by an official licensure board.
In Bangkok, you will find a wide array of qualifications. Some psychotherapist are very qualified, while some are very under qualified. In my years in Bangkok, I have even come across various psychotherapists who actually claim fraudulent credentials. A psychotherapist’s credentials should be easily verifiable.
Most licensure bodies have websites that will allow you to quickly verify a psychotherapist’s credentials online. Before choosing a psychotherapist, I recommend that you ask for a link to such websites.
If a psychotherapist who does not willingly offer you up such verification methods, I would consider that a red flag.
